My name is Subhasis Mukhopadhyay, currently a Project Associate at C3i Labs, IIT Kanpur. I am a dedicated, hardworking and amiable individual working in the field of Cyber Security and Software Development. My aim is to contribute towards the betterment of our society and make it a better place to live in. I am a follower of Swami Vivekananda’s quote “Arise, awake and do not stop until the goal is reached”.
I am currently working in the field of Defensive Cyber Security. Being responsible for products like Security Information and Event Management, Infrastructure Mapper and Parser etc. My main focus is to create decoy systems to trap attackers and getting the defensive security team some spare time in case of a attack. These works are done in collaboration with companies like L&T and Tech Mahindra. I have also worked in the field of Formal Verification using SPIN (Simple Promela Interpreter) as well as Probabilistic Model Checking using PRISM Model Checker. The work with PRISM was done with Hitachi R&D and it was awarded the best paper award in CICT 2019. I have also worked on Malware Analysis and Network Security with responsibilities including generation of dataset, feature extraction, applying machine learning techniques to train models which determines a given executable or android package file is a malware or not, if it is a malware, then which family (Virus, Worms etc) of malware does it belong to, automate the whole process and verification. I am working under Prof. Sandeep Shukla and Mr. Anand Handa.
I have been an intern here two times during my 4th year of College during which I developed an Data Exfiltration Application and Android Malware Analysis using Machine Learning techniques.
I am grateful to Prof. Sandeep Shukla for providing me the opportunity to work here and learn among such bright and talented colleagues and individuals.
